For many West Australians in a suburban home, energy costs are a real pressure on the household budget. It’s why so many are choosing resort living, like at Providence, where our embedded solar battery microgrids can genuinely reduce your weekly spend. Read on to see exactly what that means in real numbers.

Over the last few years, we have used a variety of terms to describe the energy savings available to Providence Homeowners. Some of our early marketing material referred to “free power”, while more recent marketing collateral described power as being “included in the weekly fee”.

As the number of homes in our Resorts have grown, it is now possible to share the data we have collected for each of the 15 designs we offer. The data clearly presents that energy costs at Providence are much more affordable than living in a traditional suburban home. Unlike most suburban households, Providence Homeowners do not pay Synergy’s daily supply charge, which alone can amount to hundreds of dollars each year. In addition, the first 8kWh of electricity used each day is included as part of the Providence lifestyle offering.

The benefits, however, extend well beyond electricity inclusions.
Providence homes are purposefully designed to be comfortable, energy efficient and economical. Enhanced insulation and modern construction methods help our homes hold a comfortable temperature, which means less reliance on heating and cooling and lower overall energy consumption through the year. Of course, every Homeowner lives differently.

Some people travel regularly or spend time away visiting family. Others enjoy entertaining guests or working from home. Some prefer natural ventilation, others run air conditioning for extended periods. These lifestyle choices naturally affect energy consumption and household costs.

That is why we are committed to providing real data rather than broad assumptions.
The table on the next page sets out average weekly electricity cost recorded for each of our home designs, for both single and couple households. The figures are the actual metered costs at the Piara Waters and Henley Brook Lifestyle Resorts between 1 January and 30 June 2026. Across the homes measured, weekly electricity averages ranged from $1.25 (the Cecilia) to $8.03 per week (the Sweet Dreams) for singles, and from $2.78 per week (also the Cecilia) to $13.50 per week (the Moon Shadow) for couples. The data confirms something we’ve long observed: many Homeowners living in smaller homes use no more than the electricity already included each day and have zero power bills.

To keep our comparisons fair and credible, we measure Homeowner outcomes against independent benchmarks published quarterly by ASFA, the peak body for Australia’s superannuation industry. For the March 2026 quarter, the ASFA data explains that it costs $60.70 a week on average for a single household’s energy and $75.28 for a couple, at a comfortable standard of living. Against our highest electricity averages, that’s still a remarkable saving of around $50 a week for a single Homeowner, and around $60 a week for a couple. For me, this reflects something I have believed since Providence began. The weekly site rent paid by Homeowners should not simply be viewed as a cost. It should represent value.

When you consider the energy inclusions, the quality and efficiency of our homes, the facilities, the security, the community atmosphere and the lifestyle available year-round, you’re receiving far more than a place to live. You’re investing in a way of life designed to be comfortable, connected and financially sensible.

Our commitment is simple: To provide clear information, genuine value and a lifestyle that continues to improve the everyday lives of our Homeowners.
